All Andrue wanted for his Birthday was his Mom, Junior and a skateboard. And he got his wish!

I'm Going Home

I trained all year to prepare myself for 15 months of hell away from my family. Upon arrival to Kuwait it seems that my body could not handle the additional weight added to my IBA. We left Kuwait on November 11th to Baghdad were I spent a little over two weeks training in the operations room. While in Iraq I was told of a stress fracture I aquired in my hip, which was devastating news to me. How am I expected to be a good NCO without experiencing what my troops are experiencing? I never even got to see beyond FOB Falcon's Wall.
On December 3 I left Iraq for Germany to have 3 pins placed in my hip. I never thought of this happening to me but it is a blessing in disguise, I get to be home with my family while recuperating.
Please continue to support and pray for our troops still over there in the "Ass Crack of the World."

I'm Leaving Iraq

Big ups to Everett to making sure I got on the bird safely and with all my gear. From here we went on to the CSH in Baghdad and then I went on alone to Germany to have my surgery then to Maryland and now I am home.

The time finally came to get on the bus. A really sad reality for all of us. This is my second time being deployed. For alot of our 3id soldiers this is like there 3rd and 4th deployments. When is this all gonna end?
